| 60 Students awarded certificates on FOSS |
Sierra eRiders has joined the world in celebrating Software Freedom Day 2010 in Sierra Leone with the theme "Free and Open Source Software for Education".
The celebration in Sierra Leone was marked by the awarding of certificates to 60 students, from various secondary schools in the country, who have successfully completed basic software training facilitated by Sierra eRiders using Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) on operating system, word processing and the Internet.

Software Freedom Day (SFD) is an annual worldwide celebration of Free and Open Source Software (FOSS). This is a day dedicated to educate the public about the benefits of FOSS and also to encourage it uses.
In an effort to assist government in the integration of ICT in the development process of Sierra Leone, Sierra eRiders with support from OSIWA is organising a One day face to face workshop on the theme: DEVELOPING THE FUTURE OF SIERRA LEONE INTERNET TOGETHER.
